Where to record the METs for the patient's activity level?

Calculate a patient's activity level with METs via Calculate PAL under Lifestyle, based on their 24-hour activities instead of the Harris-Benedict factor.

Updated August 13, 2024

Within the patient’s profile, under the “Lifestyle” category, there is an option to add a daily activity level for the patient based on the standard Harris-Benedict factor. However, for nutritionists who want more accuracy in daily activity levels, we also offer the option to calculate it manually based on the patient’s activities over the 24 hours of their day.

To access this function, within the “Daily Activity Level” field, select the option “Calculate PAL” (Physical Activity Level). A pop-up window will open with a small model of the patient’s daily activities, which you can modify as needed to match the patient’s lifestyle precisely. You can add, edit, or delete activities.

Once finished, close the pop-up window and the new personalized activity level will be calculated automatically.
