What is a food group in the flexible meal plan?

In Almendra's flexible meal plan, a food group holds interchangeable foods and the patient picks one. Create your groups first in Equivalents.

The idea behind a flexible meal plan is to give the patient more options. That’s why, in the flexible meal plan, foods are organized into groups. A food group contains foods that can be substituted for one another. This means that if you put, for example, 70 g of kiwi, 1 cup of banana, and 7 strawberries in a group, the patient can choose any of those foods, in their respective amounts.

In other words, you’re telling the patient “Choose any of these 3 options”. To use food groups successfully, you need to create them beforehand in the “Equivalents” section, located in the sidebar. If you want the patient to eat 2 or more foods from a group, you can write it in that meal’s comment.
